At last week’s Comic Con Experience in Brazil, Pixar president Jim Morris showed some unfinished art from Finding Dory, Disney•Pixar’s sequel to 2003 feels-fest Finding Nemo. He also shared more details about the plot, including the setting: The majority of the movie will take place at the Marine Biology Institute of California.
Previous reports have revealed that at the start of Finding Dory, Dory (Ellen DeGeneres) lives with Marlin (Albert Brooks) and Nemo (so far uncast) in a reef as a happy little fish family. But when an event sets off Dory’s “homing instinct,” she sets out to recover her missing memories of her family.
The latest plot details come from Omelete and is translated from Portuguese by Comic Book Movie: Dory learns that she was born and raised at the Marine Institute before being let out in the ocean.
Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy will voice Dory’s parents, while Ty Burrell will play Bailey the beluga whale. Which means we might get more insight into how Dory learned to speak whale!
Finding Dory comes to theaters June 17, 2016.
